Veterans Day 2023
Special ceremonies in observance of Veterans Day were held in the front of the St. Tammany Justice Center in Covington Saturday morning, November 11, 2023. Dozens of veterans from several branches of the Armed Forces attended and were honored.
Emceed by Joseph P. Untz II, commander of the American Legion Post No. 16, the event featured a number of speeches by dignitaries, patriotic songs by Emily Vennen, the presentation of the colors by the St. Tammany Veterans Honor Guard, and special remarks by representatives of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Antiques and Uniques Festival 2023
The Covington Heritage Foundation held this year’s “Covington Antiques and Uniques Festival” on Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30, showcasing a variety of antiques, vintage collectibles and crafts, and architectural salvage on display and for sale. Food trucks and music performances accompanied the free fun-filled event.The festival took place at the Covington Trailhead, 419 N. New Hampshire Street, in Covington, Louisiana, between ten a.m. and 5 p.m.
