Three Rivers Art Festival 2023

  The 27th annual Three Rivers Art Festival took place on Columbia Street in Covington the weekend of Nov. 11 & 12th, bringing outstanding artists in a wide variety of media to the area for one of the South's finest juried art shows and sales.

Covington Farmers Market 2023

 Hundreds of people turned out for the Covington Farmer's Market on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023. There was music, fresh produce, coffee, plants and herbal items, plus a wide variety of other goods from area farms. Here are some pictures. Click on the images to make them larger. 












Veterans Day 2023

  Special ceremonies in observance of Veterans Day were held in the front of the St. Tammany Justice Center in Covington Saturday morning, November 11, 2023. Dozens of veterans from several branches of the Armed Forces attended and were honored.

Emceed by Joseph P. Untz II, commander of the American Legion Post No. 16, the event featured a number of speeches by dignitaries, patriotic songs by Emily Vennen, the presentation of the colors by the St. Tammany Veterans Honor Guard, and special remarks by representatives of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations and the American Legion Auxiliary. 





From left to right, Joseph P. Untz II, City Councilman Larry Rolling, Ken Diebold covering the POW/MIA Chair,Emily Vennen who sang God Bless America and the Star Spangled Banner, and Tiffany McGary Cyprian, who told about the Welcome Ministries Community House for homeless veterans.


From left to right are Dennis W. Charlesworth, Vice-Commander with the American Legion Post, Matthew Williams with the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post 8720 who read the poem "In Flander's Field," Lane Carson with the St. Tammany Veterans Foundation, Guest Speaker Scott Nowicki, and Post Chaplain Richard Perl.


The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the American Heritage Girls.


The Honor Guard gave a 12 gun salute.

Antiques and Uniques Festival 2023

  The Covington Heritage Foundation held this year’s “Covington Antiques and Uniques Festival” on Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30, showcasing a variety of antiques, vintage collectibles and crafts, and architectural salvage on display and for sale. Food trucks and music performances  accompanied the free fun-filled event.The festival took place at the Covington Trailhead, 419 N. New Hampshire Street, in Covington, Louisiana, between ten a.m. and 5 p.m.
